Himiko Aizen

Himiko Aizen (藍染 卑弥呼, Aizen Himiko) is the lieutenant of the Second Division, under Captain Suì-Fēng. Previously she served as the Sixth seat of the Eleventh Division under Captain Kenpachi Zaraki. Himiko is the younger twin sister of Sōsuke Aizen.

It is unknown if Himiko knew about her brother's treachery, goals or plans. Though she swore she knew nothing about it, there are those in the Gotei 13 that do not believe her claims. She is never seen directly interfering with him or stopping him directly, and was seen actively avoiding a runion with him before his capture and imprisonment in Muken.

Appearance

Himiko is a tall, curvaceous woman with a fair complextion, whose hair is a dark brown which she often styles in a long braid with loose pieces that frame her face, and a pair of hazel eyes. Other than the more obvious traits, Himiko looks similar to Sōsuke which became more noticable during the latter's ascent to Hueco Mundo. For attire, Himiko dons a standard Shinigami shihakushō with a lieutenant's badge around her left arm, with her division's number and insignia upon it.

Personality

Himiko has always been seen as a stern individual, which has made her come off as apathetic in the past. Even during Sōsuke's time as a lieutenant and captian, others would prefer dealing with him rather than Himiko.
These days, those who speak about her note that she has a ruthless, yet efficient and stern attitude, fitting for her position in the Second Division, noting that she models herself after her captain Suì-Fēng.
Unlike her captain; Himiko remains emotionless in battle and prefers to avoid taunting, and is very seldom subject to being taunted. She generally acts indifferent, bordering on arrogance, to most situations she is faced with, and rarely views her opponent/s as being worth her time.

Biography

At an unknown point in the past, Himiko became part of the 11th Division under Captain Kenpachi Zaraki whilst her brother became part of the 5th Division under Captain Shinji Hirako. Though, eventually Himiko would leave the 11th Division and instead join the 2nd Division due to not liking how loud and violent the 11th Division is. It is also noted that Himiko did not get along with 3rd seat (then 5th seat) Yumichika Ayasegawa.

Hollowfication Incident

Himiko was unaware her brother was experimenting on hollows and shinigami. However, she was aware of Sosuke's goals to create the Hōgyoku but was unaware of his success, she was also ignorant to Kisuke Urahara's involvement.

Soul Society Arc

Sometime before Rukia Kuchiki's death sentence, Himiko was made the co-lieutenant of the 2nd Division with Marechiyo Ōmaeda from her previous 3rd seat position. This came shortly after she had mastered the use of Kido and her Shikai. Her brother, who was already a Captain was nowhere to be found when Himiko attempted to tell him her news. Himiko had no idea about Sosuke's faked death as the news had not reached her, once it did it was too late; the latter had already left the Soul Society.
Upon learning of his betrayal, Himiko was then arrested by Byakuya Kuchiki, who had suspected Himiko of being involved with Sosuke's wrong doings. However, she was let go due to no evidence suggesting she knew and participated in Sosuke's betrayal.

Arrancar arc

Himiko is mentioned by Ulquiorra as he and Yammy arrive in Karakura Town, stating that she "Must be strong due to her relation to Lord Aizen."

Fake Karakura Town arc

When Sosuke, along with his top three Espada and their Fracción arrive to attack the Fake Karakura Town, Himiko along with her Captain and other Gotei 13's members are sent to defend it.
After the fight for the pillars are successfully defended, she engaged in battle with Nirgge Parduoc with her co-lieutenant Marechiyo Ōmaeda, the arrancar was killed by Himiko's shikai. Afterwards she lends a hand to her Captain to defeat Ggio Vega.

After Vega is defeated, Himiko, Ōmaeda and Suì-Fēng prepare to battle Ggio's master, Baraggan Louisenbairn the Segunda Espada. Yet, the three of them are unable to move Baraggan.
Himiko witnesses the arrival of the Visored, a group of previous Soul Reapers she and other haven't seen in 100 years.
Once Hachigen Ushōda joins Suì-Fēng and Marechiyo Ōmaeda in facing Baraggan; Himiko leaves them to reunite with Shinji Hirako, who asks if she wants to confront Sosuke with him, she declines and returns to her Captain.

Himiko witnesses Suì-Fēng's bankai for the first time and Baraggan's defeat by Hacchi.
When Ichigo Kurosaki returns from Hueco Mundo, Himiko, along with the other unoccupied Shinigami and Visored, prepare to protect Ichigo from Sosuke and his Shikai. Himiko leaves the battle shortly after, not wanting to fall victim to Sosuke's Kyōka Suigetsu.

The Thousand Year Blood War arc

Himiko is present during the invasion of the Sternritter and Yhwach. She is lucky enough to not get her newly accquired bankai stolen. She remains unharmed due to not being active in the fight, running into Shinji Hirako and Momo Hinamori, the three of them helping in the aftermath once the Sternritter retreat.

Later, Himiko bears witness to the swift and complete invasion of Soul Society by the Wandenreich. She, along with Ōmaeda battle with the Sternritter BG9 who had stolen their Captain's bankai.
Following Suì-Fēng's orders, both Himiko and Ōmaeda help to steady their captain as she fires her bankai at BG9, defeating the Quincy.
Later on, the three run into Momo Hinamori and Shinji Hirako, their reuinion is cut short when Bazz-B appears, Himiko is caught in the Quincy's Burner Finger 3 attack. Himiko is eventually healed by Momo.

After Yhwach's defeat and before Sosuke's inprisonment again, Himiko reunites with her brother. She hugs him before he is bound, Sosuke does not return her hug but acknowledges her hard work and muses about her bankai.

Zanpakutō

Ichigeki no kaminari (one strike of lightning): in its sealed state takes the form of a regular katana. It has a cross guard, with an open frame much like a four-pane window. The guard is gold-colored, with a dark purple hilt-wrapping. The sword is associated with a black sheath.

Shikai

The release command of Himiko's Shikai is "Shine" (輝く, kagayaku). The blade of the sealed Zanpakutō then transforms into a longer sword that glows purple. When Himiko uses Ichigeki no kaminari, she dashes behind her target and slices through a point in space, briefly freezing time. The target is then surrounded by six lightning bolts before time is unfrozen. Those lightning bolts then all simultaneously slash the target before engulfing them in a beam of lightning. This causes significant damage to other shinigami and quincy, and has proven to be deadly to hollows and humans.

Bankai

Eien no shisen (eternal gaze): upon activating bankai, Himiko unleashes the power of lightning, she blends into the shadow of her blade, creating an illusion of "doubles" that strike a series of thunderclap-blows to nearby opponents simultaneously that deal multiple instances of lightning.
